We convert existing koras from the traditional leather rings to machine heads. We also repair and adjust both types. A kora can also be customised to suit your own hands, for example some people need a larger bridge to make it easier for them to reach the strings.
To convert an existing kora costs from £150 to £390 depending on how much you need us to do in terms of assembly, stringing up and retuning. A new neck is cut and used for every kora.
If you need help repairing a kora or simply want advice on how to turn one into a
playable instrument from one that was perhaps bought on e-

Professional Conversion |
We convert your kora, replacing all parts other than the kora body. The price will be reduced by £40 if we use your bridge and pad. Note: this price will be confirmed on seeing the kora to be converted, as the condition of the kora body with it’s handles and crossbar is an important factor. |
