In order to make these beautiful instruments more affordable we have developed a ‘kora kit’ which contains exactly the same components as all of our koras but without the hours we spend putting on the machine heads, stringing up, tuning and playing in. It saves you £100 on the price of a Standard Kora.
We provide everything you need including comprehensive instructions with photos and
are on the end of the phone if you need us. The photo on the left is of the first
kora made in this way. Sam was a student and keen to start playing but like many
of us, on a tight budget -
The neck is shaped and has all the holes drilled ready for the machine heads. The eyelets are fitted and the wood is finished with tung oil. The kora body is ready to be used and needs no further work. A new bridge and pad are provided. Click here to see the instructions in Adobe Reader pdf format.
